One of the highlights of the year has to be seeing Winkworth Arboretum in autumn, having been planned many years ago with autumn colours in mind. Alas it has been pretty hard so far to get there with the constant rain over the weekends. As it was on Sunday we were not going to go, but while driving past, there was a clear spell so decided to take a chance. Unfortunately it did not last, as about 5 minutes into the walk the clouds opened up and dumped water on us. We took shelter under the trees to try and avoid the hardest downpours. If it wasn’t for the rain though, we probably would not have noticed all the mushrooms. So instead of shooting the autumn colours, we ended up hunting down mushrooms all over Winkworth while avoiding the odd rain shower. Hope you enjoy the photos taken a little closer to the ground.
